The Blackmagic Video Assist 7" 12G HDR is a powerhouse all-in-one solution that functions as a high-end field monitor, a professional recorder, and a portable broadcast scope. It is the perfect upgrade for any camera system, allowing you to bypass internal recording limitations and capture edit-ready, 10-bit 4:2:2 files in industry-standard ProRes or DNx formats.
The centerpiece is the stunning 2500-nit touchscreen, which is bright enough for critical monitoring in direct sunlight without a hood. For high-end cinematography, it supports 3D LUTs and provides a suite of professional scopes, including waveform, RGB parade, and vectorscope. Unlike smaller monitors, the 7" model features dual UHS-II SD card slots for non-stop relay recording and two mini-XLR inputs with phantom power, effectively turning your camera into a professional broadcast rig with crystal-clear audio.
The body is designed for efficiency on set. It features two rear battery slots for Sony L-Series (NP-F) batteries, allowing for hot-swapping so you never have to stop recording to change power. This 12G model supports Blackmagic RAW (BRAW) recording from a wide list of supported cameras and features a high-speed USB-C expansion port for recording directly to external SSDs. With both 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 ports, the Video Assist supports high-bandwidth 4K60p workflows and is compatible with virtually any professional camera on the market.
